21 Inch Touch Screen Monitor & Higher Imaging Resolution with BIOMIC V3
Giles Scientific Inc (California, USA) has significantly upgraded its hardware of the BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System with a new 21 inch touch screen monitor. This provides an 85% increase in work space from the previous monitor, magnifying test images 2-3X on-screen. Internal optical upgrades include 40% higher pixel resolution and 25% lower distortion levels.
BIOMIC V3’s digital imaging technology automates the reading, interpretation, and reporting of CLSI, EUCAST, and BSAC antibiotic disk diffusion tests, Etests® (bioMerieux), 96-well microtiter plates, and commercial identification panels including API® (bioMerieux), RapIDTM (Remel), BBLTM CrystalTM (BD) and chromogenic agar plates. All test images can be saved for future review. The addition of a bar code reader coupled with bi-directional LIS/LIMS interface capability further speeds workflow. BIOMIC V3 serves as a primary or secondary AST-ID system for microbiology laboratories of all sizes and setups.
96 Well Microtiter Reading with BIOMIC V3
The BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System now provides automated reading, interpreting and recording of 96 well microtiter plates. This greatly improves accuracy, speed, and standardization relative to manual reading. All test plate images and results are viewed and saved. BIOMIC V3 reads all 96 well formats including MicroScan® (Siemens) AST* & ID plates, Sensititre® (TREK) AST* & ID plates, and custom plates.
