The BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System now contains an extensive reagent QC feature for electronic documentation of reagent QC tests (Oxidase, Catalase, PYR, etc) and lot information. Customers define a list of reagents and templates including: lot number, manufacturer, expire date, in-use date, out-use date, quantity received, received by, visual inspection, QC results for positive and negative controls, expected results, frequency of testing, results acceptable, new lot, tech/supervisor initial, corrective action, comments, and the option to define custom fields. Customers may attach up to 3 high resolution images with each QC test. All reagent QC information and images are saved for future review.
BIOMIC V3’s digital imaging technology automates the reading, interpretation, and reporting of CLSI, EUCAST and BSAC antibiotic disk diffusion tests, Etests® (bioMerieux), MIC Test Strips (Liofilchem®), 96-well microtiter plates, and identification panels including API® (bioMerieux), RapIDTM (Remel), BBLTM CrystalTM (BD), Liofilchem® ID Systems and chromogenic agar plates. Bar code entry and a 2-Way LIS/LIMS interface further speeds lab workflow. BIOMIC V3 serves as a primary or secondary AST-ID system for microbiology laboratories of all sizes and setups.
